p.r.n.: Abbreviation meaning "when necessary" (from the Latin "pro re nata", for an occasion that has arisen, as circumstances require, as needed). One of a number of hallowed abbreviations of Latin terms that have traditionally been used in prescriptions.
Do I have what it takes to be a nurse? Let's talk about labels, one's that I can handle: daughter, sister, mother, ex-wife...but NURSE? My blog is a space to rant and rave about what I think is today's trials and tribulations while I go through my last two semesters of vocational nursing school. Wish me luck .....

Good to hear you got the credit for that question. We have questions like that too, that are just worded strangely and throw people off. The fact that 5 out of 7 of your got it wrong kinda shows something weird was going on. Our instructors will throw questions out periodically too if we gripe enough about it. Gripe on, my friend! :-)

I don't know what's up with the math but it drives me nuts sometimes! It's not hard, but the prof.'s at my school word the questions all crazy so you have to decipher that first to even figure out what the order is that you're working with! They have these rules about rounding that don't apply to our clinicals too.
Arg!
